FAQ AND POLICIES

What is Erostocracy?

We are a DJ collective from Athens, GA, USA. We organize events, collaborate with other artists and DJs, and book events. In the future, we may organize events in other locations around the Southeastern United States (here’s a map!). Please check our events page and social media to see what we’re up to next!

Do you do private events?

Please contact us for booking one of our DJs to play your next event. Rates are negotiable, based on what services you require from us, the location and duration of your event, and other factors. While our DJs have certain styles that they typically spin, they will spin whatever styles you want for your event—just ask! Note: Invoices are handled through PayPal, and all prices are subject to additional payment processing fees, unless you contact us directly by email to pay by cash, check, or ACH.

If you wish to book an individual DJ associated with Erostocracy for your ticketed event, please go to our Artists page to get in direct contact with our artists. We will also cross-promote your event on this website and on our social media!

Public Events

General Information

If you see an event listed on our website, and the title is in the form XXX Presents YYY, where XXX is not “Erostocracy” and YYY is the name of the event, then it is not our event, as we are cross-promoting it due to Erostocracy having a vested interest in its success. Please go to the official social media page or the website for the host (provided on the specific event’s page on our website)

Code of Conduct

Please practice PLUR (peace, love, unity, and respect). Treat those how you’d like to be treated. We do not tolerate racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia, hate speech, or verbal or physical harassment towards guests, artists or staff at our events. If someone’s behavior towards you or others is making you uncomfortable, please alert venue or event staff. You are also required to follow all venue rules and policies. Be aware that certain venues may not allow re-entry, have restrictions on bags (e.g., size, type, clear bag, or no bags) or items (e.g., no outside food or beverages); information regarding specific event policies will be posted to social media and on our website prior to the event. NOTE: if you have a disability that requires you to have something with you that would typically violate venue policy, please let us know what accommodations you require and how they help you. If there is any friction with venue staff over something for an accommodation, please let Erostocracy staff know.

Media Release

By entering an Erostocracy event, you are entering a public space; photography, audio, and video recording by members of the general public and Erostocracy staff will occur. Entry onto the premises (including, but not limited to, entry areas, parking lots, stage areas, vestibules, lobbies, and listening areas) constitutes your consent to be recorded, filmed, or photographed; these recordings/videos/photographs, or exhibitions and/or reproductions thereof, may be used for any purpose by Erostocracy. If you appear in a photo/video/audio recording and wish to be removed from it, please DM us on Instagram with a description or a link to the photo so that we may find an appropriate replacement.

Why are your events 18+/21+?

Our events are 18+ for safety and liability reasons. Events may be 21+ at the discretion of the hosting venue. Events may have bar services, and we will indicate if this is the case on social media and on our website.

What do I wear?

Wear something you are comfortable dancing in, provided it does not violate venue or Erostocracy policies.

Do I pay at the door?

Depending on the event, tickets may be available for pre-sale only, door-only, pre-sale or door, or even free.

What should I bring?

Please bring an ID, phone, and payment to enter. Certain events have restrictions on bags or permitted items; as mentioned above, information regarding specific event policies will be posted to social media and on our website prior to the event. Large bags are discouraged. From our experience, additional water or electrolyte beverages, snacks (sugar and salt are important to replenish), comfortable clothing (e.g., sneakers, tank top, shorts), personal fans (either manual or electric), and battery banks with charging cables are all smart choices, if not otherwise restricted. Coat check will likely not be available at most venues; you should find a safe place out of the way of others to put coats, external layers, and other belongings.
